Application
Apply the adhesive evenly to the substrate with the proper trowel according to
industry
standards or as recommended by the flooring manufacturer. Lack of
adhesive due to improper trowel size can contribute to bond failure / inadequate
bond.
It is important to apply only the amount of adhesive that can be covered within a
20-30 minute time period (open/working time), which will vary with temperature,
humidity and porosity of the substrate.
Open Time
20-30 minutes (depending on temperature, humidity, and condition of floor)
Rolling Your Installation
Carpet: Immediately after the carpet is installed, roll with a carpet core or a light
weight roller (25-50 lbs.)
Sheet Vinyl: All installations must be rolled. For vinyl installations, roll with a
75-100 lb. roller immediately after it has been installed. Start from the center and
work outward to remove bubbles and to ensure adhesive transfer.
Foot Traffic
Restrict heavy foot traffic or rolling loads for 24 hours. To move furniture and
equipment across the floor, use plywood or hardboard panels to protect the
flooring for the first 48-72 hours after installation.
Clean-up
Wet adhesive may be removed with cold, soapy water and a white rag. For dried
adhesive, it is preferred to be removed mechanically. Mineral spirits may also be used
for dried adhesive residue carefully following warnings on container. It is best to apply
the mineral spirits to a clean, white absorbent cloth and not directly to the flooring.
