5. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Mixing
All tiling materials, room and product should be kept at 60-90°F (16-32°C) for
24 hours before, during and after application. All materials and equipment used in
mixing AccuColor EFX
®
Epoxy Grout must be clean and dry. Wear rubber gloves to
avoid skin contact. Separately stir individual containers of Part A and Part B prior to
blending together, using a different paddle to stir each component.
Pour Part A and Part B into the mixing pail provided with this kit, scraping all material
from each container. Blend thoroughly with a low speed mixer (not to exceed 300
rpm) to avoid entraining air for a minimum of 3 minutes. Continue mixing and slowly
add the dry powder Part C. Use entire quantity of Part C for use as a wall grout.
If easier workability is desired for floor installations, use less Part C.
For 3 Gallon (11.35 L) Kit, use up to 1
1
2
quarts (1.42 L) less of Part C.
For 1.5 Gallon (5.68 L) Kit, use up to
3
4
quart (.71 L) less of Part C.
Application
Tile and joint surfaces must be clean and dry. Pour the entire mixed grout unit into
multiple piles on the surface to be grouted, leaving none in pail. Fully pack the
grout joints with a clean, hard rubber epoxy float. Force the grout into the joints to
eliminate any gaps or air pockets. Work only a small area at one time [15-20 sq. ft.
(1.4-1.9 m
2
)]. Apply in a diagonal direction across the tile to prevent the grout from
being dragged out of the joints. Remove any excess grout from the surface of the
tile by holding the float at a 90° angle to the surface and moving it diagonally across
the grout joints. Clean tiles immediately. Do not allow epoxy to harden on face of tile.
Clean-up
The use of TEC
®
AccuColor EFX
®
Clean-up Water Concentrate (TA-442) is highly
recommended. Add
1
2
cup (118 mL) AccuColor EFX
®
Clean-up Water Concentrate to
4 gallons (15.14 L) rinse water.
Lightly scour the tiled surface with a nylon scrubbing pad and plenty of clean water*.
Wipe across tiles diagonally to avoid removing grout from joints. Wipe remaining
grout residue off tile with a grout sponge and clean water*. Rinse often. Repeat
until cleaned. Frequent change out of clean-up water* is recommended. Use a pail
of fresh clean water* every 40 to 50 square feet. NOTE: During clean-up, protect
ungrouted joints from water.
Inspect the installed grout the next day to determine if residual haze is present
on the tile surface. For removing any remaining grout residue, use a grout haze
remover.

Curing/Additional Information
Job may be opened to light traffic 24 hours after grouting. Complete cure and stain
resistance will be achieved in 7 days. Minor color variations may exist from batch to
batch. Therefore, before using AccuColor EFX
®
Epoxy Grout, check for matching lot
numbers on each pail. If you find it necessary to use more than one lot number per
color, plan the use of individual lots for different areas to diminish the appearance of
any shade variations.
