Carpet Pad Adhesive is a solvent-free latex based adhesive formulated to
adhere carpet cushion to porous and non-porous substrates. Secures cushion
in place quickly to facilitate fast carpet installations, provided the application
procedures are followed as specified.

Coverage
Approximately 600-700 lineal feet per gallon.
Storage
Use only in a well ventilated area. Open doors and windows to create cross
ventilation during use and until the adhesive dries. Keep container closed when
not in use. Do not take internally. Avoid eye contact.
Shelf Life
Maximum of 1 year from date of manufacture in unopened container.
Limitations
• Interior use only.
• Not for use over OSB, lauan.
• Not for use over existing vinyl.
• Not for use with vinyl backed carpet.
• Not for use in the presence of high moisture or high alkalinity (pH greater than 9).
• Protect from freezing. Adhesive is freeze/thaw stable to 10°F. Avoid prolonged
or repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
• Keep container sealed when not in use.
• Do not wet-clean carpet for 30 days after installation.
• Do not use when substrate temperature is below 50°F or above 90°F.

5. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Substrate Preparation
Use on grade, above grade, or below grade. The floor must be sound, dry, and free
from dirt, dust, old adhesives, grease, wax, or other foreign matter. Concrete floors
must be fully cured, free from dust, moisture, excessive alkalinity, curing agents,
and excessive moisture vapor emissions (3 lbs./1,000 SF/24 hrs.). On- and
below-grade concrete must have a satisfactory moisture barrier beneath the slab.
Application
Lay out the cushion to determine seam pattern prior to spreading adhesive. Using
a carpet awl, puncture six to eight

" holes along the top, side panel of the container.
Vent the container with a single hole on the opposite top, side panel. Lay the container
on the surface to adhered, holes down and push along all seam lines and the entire
perimeter of the room. Check the adhesive flow periodically to ensure an even
coat of TEC
®
Carpet Pad Adhesive is dispersing as the container is pushed across
the surface of the substrate. The container acts as your applicator, spreading the
adhesive into a thin film. While the adhesive is still wet, walk the cushion down
into the adhesive to ensure transfer to the cushions backing. The application
process will ensure a fast set-up securing the cushion within 10-15 minutes.
Clean-up
Fresh adhesive (less than 8 hours old) can be removed with ice cold soapy water and
wet cloth. Dried adhesive can be removed from carpet with mineral spirits or acetone.
For dried adhesive film, use mineral spirits or acetone carefully, as these products
can compromise the floor finishes. Always refer to the material manufacturer for
proper dried adhesive removal procedures.
