3. DESCRIPTION
XtraFlex premium acrylic latex mortar additive (TA-872) is specifically formulated
for use in place of water in TEC brand unmodified thin set to provide enhanced
performance characteristics.
Also highly recommended as an admixture for scratch and brown coats.

Suitable Substrates and Preparation
Refer to detailed information on product packages for each thin set or
recommended specialty mortar.
Storage
Store in cool, dry location. Do not store open containers.
Shelf Life
Maximum of 18 months from date of manufacture in unopened package.
Limitations
Recommended as a mortar additive only. Do not use XtraFlex additive as an
admixture for portland cement grouts. Latex-modified mortars should not be used
for installing green marble, other moisture-sensitive stone tile or resin-backed
marble; use TEC AccuColor EFX
®
Epoxy Grout and Mortar (TA-440). Latex-
modified mortars should not be applied when the temperature of the area and
substrate to be tiled is below 50°F (10°C) as this delays the curing process.
