Locate the files you would like to transfer from your computer.
Charging the battery The unit is equipped with a rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery. If the icon is displayed the battery has to be charged. Please charge the player with the provided USB cable at the PC. Upon initial use, the battery should be charged fully (8 hours) to ensure optimal performance and battery life. To charge the battery, connect the larger end of the USB cable to the USB interface of PC, and connect the other smaller end of the USB cable to the USB interface of this player.

Switching On/Off Switching On: Move the On/Off slider g down and hold it until the screen turns on. Switching Off: Move the On/Off slider g down until the shut off picture appears. Disabling the Controls (HOLD) You may want to disable the controls to avoid turning on the player or activating the controls accidentally when it is in your pocket or bag. To lock the buttons please move the HOLD button g up (in the direction of the arrow) until it locks.
Main Menu After the player is turned on, it will be in the main menu. The main menu offers eight functions: Music: Pictures: Movies: Radio: E-Books: Record: Explorer: Settings: Browse and play music. Browse and view pictures. Browse and play movies. Listen to FM radio broadcasts and record FM files. Browse and read text files. Play recorded files (voice and FM) and record voice files. Browse and delete all files. Adjust the player’s options. Í and Î allow to navigate to the desired function.
Basic Operation Function Operation Play/Pause Press the [ENTER] button to play or pause. Playing Music Note: If you have loaded new music files onto the player, the music library will need to be refreshed when you enter Music mode. This process may take several minutes. You will not be able to access the Music Browser screen until you refresh the music library. Press and hold [MENU] until the main menu is displayed. Select with Í or Î “Music” and confirm with [ENTER]. The Music Browser screen will appear.
Now Playing Controls (Music Playback) To start playing music, browse for a song and then press [ENTER] to start playback. When a song is playing, the Now Playing screen appears (see below). Lyrics This player supports the lyrics function of MP3 playback. Important Lyrics file format has to be *.LRC. File name has to be the same as the songs name. Lyrics file has to be placed in the folder of the song. Quick Option Menu Music Press and hold [ENTER] to access the Quick Option menu during music playback. Equalizer Normal, Pop, Rock, Classic, Jazz, Bass Repeat No Repeat Play tracks in normal order and no repeat. One Play the current track repeatedly. All Play all tracks repeatedly.
Viewing Photos Press and hold [MENU] until the main menu is displayed. Select with Í or Î “Pictures” and confirm with [ENTER]. The Photo Browser screen will appear. Playing Movies Press and hold [MENU] until the main menu is displayed. Select with Í or Î “Movies” and confirm with [ENTER]. The Movie Browser screen will appear. To use the buttons please proceed as described in the paragraph “Browser Controls”. Video Mode When a movie is playing, hold the player horizontally.
Important: This player is only able to play MTV videos that have been converted with the provided converting tool. Video Conversion Use the video conversion software utility included on the Installation CD to create video files that are suitable for playback on the player. Your player supports MTV files with the following specifications: 160 x 128 resolution at 25 frames per second (fps).
Converting Video To start the software, double-click the file “VideoConvert.exe”. 3. Click the “Start Conversion” button to start the conversion process. 4. When the conversion is complete, copy the converted files to the player’s “MOVIE.DIR” folder for playback. FM Radio Important: Earphone cable serves as an extended antenna, so please keep it plugged in. Select “Radio” in the main menu. Then press [ENTER] to start the FM radio. Radio Mode Upon entering FM Radio mode, you can tune to stations manually or to preset stations.
FM Recording In FM Radio mode: 1. Press [MENU] button to find two options: Add Preset or Del Preset and Start Record. 2. Select Start Record, then press [ENTER] button to start the FM Recording. It does not matter which mode (Manual or Preset) the player is in. 3. During recording press [ENTER] button to pause or resume recording. 4. Press [MENU] button to stop recording and save the recorded file. System saves recorded file in the FMIN.DIR folder automatically as format: FM0000X.wav. 5.
Reading an E-Book Press and hold [MENU] until the main menu is displayed. Select with Í or Î “E-Books” and confirm with [ENTER]. The E-Book Browser screen will appear. To use the buttons please proceed as described in the paragraph “Browser Controls”. E-Book Mode When reading a text file, hold the player horizontally (landscape). The orientation of the controls will change accordingly.
Playing voice Press and hold the [MENU] button to display the Main menu. Use the Í or Î button to select “Record”, and press [ENTER] button to enter voice playing mode. For detail information about playing, see the “Basic Operation” section. Deleting Files and Folders (Explorer) Enter Explorer mode to view and delete all folders and files loaded on your player. Press and hold [MENU] until the main menu is displayed. Select with Í or Î “Explorer” and confirm with [ENTER]. To use the buttons please proceed as described in the paragraph “Browser Controls”. To delete a selected item, press [MENU]. Select Yes and confirm with [ENTER].
Customized Settings To customize the player settings: 1. In the main menu, select the “Settings” item and press [ENTER] to enter the system settings mode. 2. Press Ï or Ð to select setting item. Confirm with [ENTER]. Pressing the button Í or [MENU] brings you one level up into the next menu. Power Sleep Set the duration of time (in minutes) that the player will remain on when it is idle. The settng of "OFF" will disable the Power Saving feature. Use Í or Î to set the values.
Firmware Upgrade From time to time, TEAC may release firmware upgrades to improve the performance of the Player or to add additional features. Please check the TEAC website periodically at www.teac.de to see if new firmware has been released for your player. If you are experiencing abnormal behavior with your player, you may choose to restore (format) your player before updating its firmware. Very important: Before using this function, please first backup all data in the player.
Upgrade Procedure Fist, connect the player with the PC, and then open FWISP.exe. You will see the window as follows: Click the first button (OK, or YES, or SURE, or Confirm). You will see the window as follows: Click the first button (Yes), the computer will display how much the upgrade has be finished, just like 10%,20%,40%… until 100%. The upgrade has been finished. At the same time, you can see: Click the OK button to confirm, then safely remove the player. The player has been upgraded successfully.
