Push the ratchet release downwards until the ratchet is released.
Open the handle.
Remove the terminal from the crimping jaws.
Check the function of the crimping tool.
The ratchet must automatically release at the end of the crimping process.
The crimping tool is ready to use again.
6 Repair and maintenance
6.1 Daily maintenance
The following daily maintenance must be carried out by the responsible operator:
Using a clean, soft brush or a lint-free cloth, remove dirt, dust, moisture and other
residues from the crimping tool. Do not use any hard or abrasive materials that could
damage the crimping tool.
Apply sewing machine oil to all pivot points and bearing surfaces. Avoid excessive
lubrication.
The crimping tool must be stored in a clean and dry location when not in use.
6.2 Periodic inspection
The crimping tool should be inspected regularly by suitably qualified personnel, de-
pending on the level of use, and the inspections should be documented.
Check the crimping tool for wear and damage, particularly in the area of the crimping
nests.
7 Disposal
The crimping tool can be disposed of as normal waste or as recyclable waste where pos-
sible. Disposal must always comply with local regulations. If in doubt, the crimping tool
can be sent to TE for disposal.
