Output Over Voltage Protection
The output over-voltage protectionconsists of an output Zenerdiode that monitors the voltage on the output
terminals. If the voltage on the output terminalsexceeds the over-voltage protection threshold,then the Zener diode
clamps the output voltage.
Short Circuitry Protection
Continuous, hiccup and auto-recovery mode.
During a short circuit the convertershuts down. The average current during this condition will be very low.
Thermal Consideration
The converteroperatesin a varietyof thermal environments. However, s
ufficient cooling should beprovided to help
ensure reliable operation of the unit. Heat is removed by conduction, convection, and radiation to the surrounding
environment. Proper cooling can be verified bymeasuring the point as shown in the figure below. The temperature at
this locationshould not exceed 10C.When operating, adequate cooling must beprovided tomaintain the testpoint
temperature at or below 100°C.Although the maximumpoint temperature of the power module is 100°C, limiting this
temperature to a lower value will increase the reliability of theunit.
