Listen to an example
Touch to play a brief sample of the speech synthesizer, using your current
settings.
Always use my settings
Mark the check box to use the settings on this screen in place of speech
synthesizer settings available in other applications.
Default Engine
Touch to set the speech synthesis engine to be used for spoken text.
Install voice data
If your cellphone does not have speech synthesizer data installed, connect
to Android Market and find yourself guided through the process of
downloading and installing the data. This setting is not available if the data
is already installed.
Speech rate
Touch to open a dialog where you can select how quickly you want the
synthesizer to speak.
Language
Touch to open a dialog where you can select the language of the text you
want the synthesizer to read. This is particularly useful in combination with
Always Use My Settings, to ensure that text is spoken correctly in a variety
of applications.
Pico TTS
Touch to show Pico TTS settings. Please firstly install voice data.
11.12 Accessibility

You use the Accessibility settings to configure any accessibility plug-ins you
have installed on your cellphone.
Accessibility
Mark the check box to enable all installed accessibility plug-ins.
KickBack
Mark the check box to have the cellphone vibrate briefly as feedback as
you navigate the user interface, press buttons, and so on.
TalkBack
Mark the check box to have an installed speech synthesizer speak the labels
or names of items as you navigate the cellphone’s user interface.
SoundBack
Mark the check box to play a sound as you navigate to the cellphone’s
user interface.
End key ends call
Mark the check box to end a call by pressing Power/End key during the
call.
11.13 Date & time
Use Date & Time settings to customize your preferences for how date and
time are displayed.
Use 24-hour format
Mark the check box to display the time using 24-hour clock format.
