Reverb/Twist (yellow controls)
Reverb Style
Options: NonLin Classic, NonLin A, Nonlin B, Nonlin Wide, Mono to Stereo,
Sustained, Smooth A, Smooth B, Panner, Scanner, Box, Hollow, Wild, Live, Small
Ambience, Air Ambience, Rough, Gated, Explode, NonLin Decayed
This selects the main reverb style, which you can modify using Twist Type and the
reverb envelope controls.
Dierent Styles have dierent features with regards to density, diusion type,
spectral response, stereo image etc. Choose one that suits your program material.
Dierences are more pronounced with low Diuse settings and Twist Ratios.
Twist Type
Options: Aircon, Box, Cave, Chicken, Digital, Guts, Hot Air, Kazoo, Levitate, Moony,
Mouth, Mued, Next Door, Radiator, Spaceship, Synthetic, Tunnel, Ventilation,
Woody, Woolly
This selects the type of eects treatment to be used on the reverb. (These titles
are arranged in alphabetical order.)
The Twist Type should be regarded as a spice capable of sparking imagination in
the mix process. Try the eect on all sorts of dierent sources to add character or
make them stand out.
If spectral shaping using the Twist parameters get out of control, the Lo and Hi
cuts can be used to stay within limits.
When the Twist Ratio is set at 0 %, Twist Type has no eect.
Diuse
Range: 0 to 100% in 1% steps
This is the amount of diusion applied to the selected reverb style.
Ratio
Range: 0 to 100% in 1% steps
This is the amount of twist applied to the selected reverb style.
When the Twist
Ratio is set at 0 %, Twist Type has no eect.
Filter/Width (blue controls)
Lo and Hi Cut can be used to keep heavily-Twisted processing under better
control.
Lo Cut
Range: 20 Hz to 2 kHz in variable steps
This is the frequency of the low cut lter applied to the reverb.
Hi Cut
Range: 800 Hz to 19.74 kHz in variable steps, OFF
This is the frequency of the high cut lter applied to the reverb.
Setting the two lter cut o frequencies is not limited in range: It is possible to
set a higher low cut frequency than the high cut frequency. Due to the design of
these lters, the output of the reverb will in this case be phase-reversed. Setting
Low Cut and Hi Cut lters to exactly the same frequency will not give any reverb
signal!
Width
Range: 0 to 100% in 1% steps
This is the output stereo width. Adjusts the Output Stereo Width. 0 % denotes
mono, while 100 % is maximum width.
The perceived width of the eect is also aected by the Reverb Style and Diuse
parameters. The width dierence between Styles is most obvious at low Diuse
Ratios.
