Tarkett Rigid Core Click Installation Tips
• Toinstallthesecondplankinthesecondrow.Insertthetonguesideendjointintothegroovesideendjointofthepreviousplankatalowangle.Positionthelong
sideoftheplankwiththetonguesideslightlyoverlappingthegrooveareaoftheplanksinthepreviousrow.Lifttheplankupwardandworkingfromtheleftside
oftheplanktotheright,gentlypushforwarduntiltheentireplankengagesintothepreviousrow.Use caution when installing the long side of the planks. Do not
push on the planks too hard as this may distort or deform the groove.Rotateplankdownwarduntilplankisatwiththesubstrate.Continueinstallingremaining
planksintherow.Itisimportanttomakesurethatthersttworowsarestraightandsquareastheycanaffecttheentireinstallation.
• Continueworkingfromlefttorightmaintainingtherandomappearance.Planksmaybeinstalledrowbyroworbyworkingmultiplerowsusingthestairstep
method.Besuretomaintainproperspacingatwallsandverticalobstructions
• InsomecasestheexibilityofRigidCoreClickwillallowforeasypositioningoftheplanksunderdoormoldingsandcasings.Intheeventthiscannotbedone,it
isnecessarytoremovetheliponthegrooveedgeoftheplanksyouarettingtousingasharputilityknifeandstraightedge.Thiswillallowyoutoinstalltheplank
lyingat.Aftertheliphasbeentrimmedoffontheplanksyouarettingto,laytheplankatontheoor.ApplyathinbeadofPVAglueontopofthetongueand
pushtheplankintoposition.Immediatelywipeoffanyexcessgluewithadampcloth.
• Wheninstallinginfrontofatub/showerplaceTarkettS860alongthefrontofthetub/shower.Abeadofexible,mildew-resistant,100%siliconecaulkshould
be used to seal the top of the Rigid Core Click.
• After all planks have been installed, remove spacers from perimeter of room.
• Installtransitionmoldings.DonotfastenanymoldingsthroughtheRigidCoreClick.
• Pre-drillandinstallquarterroundorbaseboardmolding.Moldingmustbesucientsizetocoverthe1/4”(6.3mm)spaceorthe1/2ʼ(12.7mm)spacefor
installationsoverwoodsubstratesthatmaybeeffectedbymoistureorexternaltemperatureandhumidityuctuations(i.e.crawlspaces,mobilehomes).Donot
fastenmoldingsthroughtheooring.Fastenintothewall.
• Useplywoodtocoverthetopoftheooringwhenmovingheavyfurnitureorappliancesintoposition.
• Useproperoorprotectorsunderthelegsoffurniture.
• PostinstallationtemperatureinHVACcontrolledapplicationswitha1/4”(6.3mm)spacingatallverticalsurfacesmustbemaintainedbetween55ºFand95ºF
(12°Cand35°C).Idealambientrelativehumidityisbetween35%and70%.
• Using a straight edge and sharp utility knife cut the center of the damaged plank approximately one inch from the edge of the adjoining planks.
• Remove the center of the damaged plank.
• Makeacutfromeachcornerbacktotheinsideedge.
• Carefully remove the edges of the cut plank. Do not damage adjoining planks.
• Prepare the replacement plank by removing the tongue and groove on each short side and by removing the groove on the long side.
• UsingTarkettS875FloatingSeamTape,placeapiecesoitiscenteredundereachadjoiningplank.
• Remove the release liner on the tape on all sides.
• Position the replacement plank by inserting the tongue of the long side into the groove of the adjoining plank.
• Rotatetheplankdownwardintoposition.
• Rollseamedgeswithahandrollertoensurepropercontactwithoatingseamtape.
