Tarkett Rigid Core Click Installation Tips
• Theendjointsoftheplanksintherstrowareassembledbyinsertingthetonguesideintothegroovesideofthepreviousplankatalowangle.Graduallylower
theplankdownatuntiltheendjointcloses,insuringthattheplanksareperfectlyaligned.Installremainingfullplanksintherstrow.
• Thelastplankintherstrowwillneedtobecut.Measurethedistancebetweenthewallandthesurfaceofthelastfullplank.Subtract1/4”(6.3mm)or1/2”(12.7
mm)dependingonthesizeofthespacerused,fromthismeasurementtoallowforthespacer.Ifthismeasurementislessthan12”(20.3cm),thelengthofrst
plankintherowmustbecut.Thiswillallowforalongerplankattheendoftherow.Therstandlastplankineachrowmustbeatleast12”(30.4cm)inlength.
Planksarecutusingasharputilityknifeandstraightedge/carpenterssquare.Scorethesurfaceoftheplankwithautilityknife,andthensnaptheplankatthe
score line.
• Theremainingpiececutfromthelastplankintherstrowmayserveastherstplankinthesecondrowprovideditisatleast12”(30.4cm)long.
Alwaysstaggerendjointsfromrowtorowaminimumof12”(30.4cm).
• Installthelongsideoftherstplankofthesecondrow.Remembertoplacea1/4”(6.3mm)spacerbetweenthewallandtheshortsideoftheplank,allow1/2'”
(12.7mm)forinstallationsoverwoodsubstratesthatmaybeeffectedbymoistureorexternaltemperatureandhumidityuctuations(i.e.crawlspaces,mobile
homes)orwheninstallinginareaswithoutpermanentHVACcontrols(3seasonrooms,seasonalvacationhomesandcabins).Insertthetonguesideintothe
groovesideofthepreviousrowatalowangleandrotatedownwarduntilplankisatwiththesubstrate.
