CSA4.4,shallbeinstalledatthetimeofinstallation
ofthewaterheaterinthelocationspeciedbythemanufacturer.Localcodesshallgoverntheinstallationof
reliefdevicesforsafetyoperationofthewaterheater.Thereliefvalvemustnotberemovedorplugged.
Novalveshallbeplacedbetweenthe reliefvalve andthewaterheater.The relieffromthedischargeof
thepressurereliefvalveshallbedisposedofinasuitableplacewhereitwillcausenodamage.Also,there
shallbenootherreducingcouplingorotherrestrictionsinstalledonthedischargelinetorestrictow.
SeeInstallationManualheading“PRESSURE RELIEFVALVES”for installationandmaintenanceofrelief
valvedischargelineandothersafetyprecautions.
Vapors from ammable liquids will explode and catch re causing death or severe burns.
Donotuseorstoreammableproductssuchasgasoline,solventsoradhesivesinthesameroomor
areanearthewaterheater.
Keepammableproducts:
1. Farawayfromheater.
2. Inapprovedcontainers.
3. Tightlyclosedandoutofreachofchildren.
4. Waterheaterhasamainburner,whichmay
comeonatanytimeandwilligniteammable
vapors.
Vapors:
1. Cannotbeseen.
2. Areheavierthanair.
3. Goalongwayontheoor.
4. Canbecarriedfromotherroomstothemain
burnerbyaircurrents.
Donotinstallwaterheaterwhereammableproductswillbestoredor
usedunlessthemainburnerisatleast18”abovetheoor.This
willreduce,butnoteliminatetheriskofvaporsbeingignitedbythe
mainburner.
Read and follow water heater warnings and instructions. If the owner’s
manual is missing, contact the retailer or manufacturer.

6. Usethisheateratyourownrisk.Testthewaterbeforebathingorshowering.Donotleavechildrenor
aninrmpersonunsupervised.Seeyourlocalwatersupplycompany[plumbinghardwareretailer]for
temperaturelimitingvalvesthatareavailable.
