2) Depth correction (Calibration)

Ⅰ) Set-up

From a position of 3m/10ft. from the boring head, place the locator as indicated in the diagram below.

Ⅱ) Starting calibration: Turn the locator ON and begin depth calibration.

Ⅲ) When the calibration is finishes with no errors

Ⅳ) In the case of an error

3 m/10 ft.

b) Place the boring head so that the axis of the locator

and the axis of the boring head are parallel to each other

a) Insert the transmitter inside the boring head

a) Select “Calibration” from

the menu and press and

hold MODE for 1 second.

c) Depth calibration will begin.

b) Press the

GAIN (▲) button.

・After receiving a display screen like the diagram to the left, return to

standard measurement mode.

・The measurement value should be displayed as 2.82m/ 9ft.5in. : the initial 3m /

10ft. minus the distance from the ground to the coil (18cm / 7in.).

・When measuring a real drill under the ground, 3m / 10ft. will be displayed

as 3.00m / 10ft.0 in.

An error message will be displayed when the signal cannot be received normally.

Please perform the following checks:

・Is the batteries in the transmitter

・That the batteries are aligned properly in the transmitter

・The transmitter selected on the locator matches the transmitter being used
