Communicating directly with
other radios
You can bypass the radio repeater and communicate
directly with another radio using the radio talkaround
feature. You can do this when you are out of range of
the repeater, or if the repeater is busy.
While repeater talkaround is active, all calls are made
on your current channel’s receive frequency.
Turning repeater talkaround on and off
You can turn repeater talkaround on and off using a
function key, if your radio is programmed in this way.
■ Press the function key to turn repeater
talkaround on.
The message
Talkaround activated
(or deactivated) appears and appears in
the display.
Repeater talkaround remains on until you press
the function key again.
