Congratulations on your purchase of the NEOCOMP, a premium boutique compressor from T-Rex Effects. The NEOCOMP makes it easy to add sustain to power chords, smoothen out single note lines and more - With up to 9:1 studio-grade compression modelled on the legendary Blackmer ® VCA. Your NEOCOMP comes with the classic set of compression control essentials, described on the next page of this manual. Compression is a subtle effect where details matter, so you’ll want to get to know these controls well.
NEOCOMP controls Four controls determine the character of your NEOCOMP compressed sound: COMP, GAIN, ATTACK and RELEASE. The COMP knob determines how much your sound is compressed—from 1:1, or no compression at all, to 9:1, which is a quite heavy “squeeze”. As you turn the COMP knob up, this naturally reduces volume, an volume reduction is part of the compression process. Use the GAIN know to compensate for this and bring your compressed sound up to an acceptable level.
