Translation and Lookup Keyboard Shortcuts
There are two global shortcuts in all SYSTRAN v6 products, except for Web Translator,
the Translation Shortcut and the Lookup Shortcut. You can change shortcuts in the
Options dialog box. For more information, see the section Global Options, Application
Settings in the SYSTRAN v6 User Guide.
Translation Shortcut
Ctrl+T is the default shortcut. Press Ctrl+T in any Windows application to translate the
selected text. Note that Firefox users may want to change the Ctrl+T shortcut to avoid
conflicts with the use of a separate shortcut used in Firefox.
Lookup Shortcut
Ctrl+L is the default shortcut. Press Ctrl+L in any Windows application to look up the
selected term in the available Dictionaries.
SYSTRAN Dictionary Manager (SDM)
SYSTRAN Dictionary Manager (SDM) allows you to create your own User Dictionaries
(UDs). These dictionaries can be used to improve translation quality by training the
software to understand special terminology or subject matter.
UDs are bilingual or multilingual glossaries created by SYSTRAN v6 users, which can be
used in addition to the SYSTRAN built-in dictionaries to enhance translation quality.
Individual UD entries can be related to specific subjects.
SDM is used to manage your UDs. Launch SDM by double-clicking the
icon on your
PC. Use Tool Tips to learn more about SDM toolbar buttons.
