Format and Typographical Issues
Since SYSTRAN's MT usually translates each segment as an individual unit, it is vital
to have good input text that segments syntactically, depending on the preceding or
following segments. In a bulleted list, each segment is logically and syntactically
dependent on the lead sentence. MT separates the segments and can misinterpret
the instructions.
Segmentation Tags
In HTML format, the <BR> tag is a segmentation marker and should not be used
inside sentences. SYSTRAN's translation engine relies on this type of information to
segment the input into translation units.
Instead of: This CSB is to inform the field that<BR>from now on a 15 meter Highwater cable is
available as a spare part via the EVS system.

Rule: Avoid using <BR> tags in the middle of the sentences.
