Troubleshooting Translation Tools
Contact your administrator if you have problems completing a translation using the
SYSTRAN Enterprise Server 7 Online Tools.
Using the Dictionary Search Tool
With the Dictionary Search tool users can search for the meaning of terms in any or all of
the following dictionaries:
SYSTRAN Dictionaries
SYSTRAN Specialized Dictionaries
User Dictionaries (UDs)
Additional Dictionaries, depending on the selected language pair
When performing a lookup on a term, SYSTRAN Enterprise Server 7 looks for it in the
selected language pair dictionaries as well as in the reverse language pair dictionaries. As
such, the Dictionary Search tool can be used as a translation assistant, providing several
meanings for source terms and serving to verify that a proposed translation meaning
supplied by SYSTRAN corresponds with the meaning in the source text.
1. If Dictionary Search is not the active tool, click Dictionary Search in the menu
bar.
2. Use the provided dropdowns to select the Source language pair and Target
language pair for the translation task.
Source language
The language of the original text, prior to translation.
Target language
The language into which the source text is translated.
Users can easily toggle their language selections by clicking the Switch
hotbutton , located between the Source and Target dropdowns.
To ensure dropdown functionality, JavaScript must be activated in the browser
employed for SYSTRAN Enterprise Server 7 use. Please consult the
appropriate browser help resources, as necessary.
