8.5.3 IV Smart EC Modbus Connection Diagram
All connections shall be made using the supplied quick connect lever-action or push-to-connect terminals. The left side of the below
image is the eld wiring side.
Line voltage (L1, L2, Ground):
• Field power connections are to be made in the electrical box
The grounding terminal is electrically connected to the unit through the DIN rail.
Control Signals & Auto-addressing:
• Modbus communication and control is made through the RSB, RSA, & COM terminals.
The “AddIn” & “AddOut” terminals are used for auto-addressing only. Auto-addressing instructions can be found in the document titled
“EBM – Auto Addressing” on the Systemair Website.
• Modbus addresses, registers, and instructions can be found in the document titled “EBM – Modbus Manual” on the Systemair Website.
• Each motor must be individually addressed on the jobsite. Each motor in the fan (quantity 2 per fan) comes with a default Modbus
address of “1” from the factory.
• If BACnet is the desired communication type, the Protonode Gateway accessory must be connected to the fan. More information can
be found on the Systemair website.
