INSTALLING THE VACUUM SYSTEM
INLET VALVES
Inlet valves can be wall or floor mounted. Wall installation is normally the best solution. Fig. 7.1 - 7.9 give you
examples on how to mount inlet valves.
Note! Remember to mount a sharp 90
o
elbow onto the inlet valve.
Note! Connection on sharp elbows will vary, and distance to wall can be adjusted.
Use the template (page 8) to mark the valve position on your wall. If the wall is not plated (new construction), nail
the backing plate to the framework (fig 7.1). If the walls are plated (existing building), remove the flange off the
backing plate (see fig 7.1). The inlet valves should not be mounted before the walls/floors are finished (paint/wall
paper.). To prevent dust etc. blocking the pipe system during the building period, cover all pipe ends with a
special dust cover(see fig. 7.11).
Note! Remember to install the low voltage wire!
Note! DO NOT GLUE THE INLET VALVE TO THE BACKING PLATE (fig. 7.12).
Note! If the walls are too thick, glue an extension (additional equipment) on the inlet valve (not to the backing
plate!). See fig 7.10.
Mount the inlet valve so that the lid it opens downwards. (See fig 7.3).

elbow to a piece of pipe to reach through the floor. Pull
the low voltage wire along the pipe through floor and
hole in backing plate. Tape the wire and mount the
dust cover

screw on the inlet valve and fix to backing plate. Connect the low
voltage wire and tape it to a 90

sharp elbow. Tie a weight to the
low voltage cable and lower it through the wall opening and
the opening through which the tubing will run.
