at the boundary / terminal and
following that, the tension of
the network, to adopt the mode
of coupling and the
corresponding connections.
Use the cables of sufficient
section where the exterior
diameter corresponds with the
dimensions of the packing box.
It is obligatory to put the
motor on the ground. In the
case of the start star triangle,
conform to the
Connection instructions
supplied with the trunk/chest/
casket. Never touch the internal
motor connections.
3.3 Starting up
Check manually that the
turbine turns freely and without
knocks. Check that all the
accessories expected are
correctly shown and that in
particular the obligatory
protection accessories (grills
and sumps) have been correctly
put in place, they have been
dismantled.
Check the direction of the
rotation of the turbine at the
start by the intermediary of the
contact of the start-up. The
direction of rotation is
indicated by the arrows situated
on the body.
If the turbine turns upside
down, re-establish the correct
direction by reversing the two
supply cables.
The turbine must be placed on
the shaft/spindle/axle on the
revetment at the end of the
shaft.
4 MAINTENANCE
4.1 Freeing from dust –
industrial vacuum
cleaning
Check periodically the
condition of the turbine and the
motor. In the case of
functioning in a very dusty
atmosphere, eliminate the dust
deposits which stick to the
turbine and upset the
equilibrium. De-dust equally
the motor at the finish to assure
a better cooling down of this
one.
4.2 Greasing and
surveillance
All the motors and boxes
containing grease must
periodically be re-lubricated
with new grease.
All the motors and boxes must
periodically receive greasing,
using the new grease.
The interval of time between
two successive greasing is
generally indicated by the
notice of construction of
motors or boxes. Do not forget
that an excess of grease can
consequent in important
heating of rotation. The
interval between two greasings
must never exceed one year, if
this occurs the conditions of
utilisation of the normal
settlement date is not reached.
If the motor or the superior box
has had a prolonged stop equal
to or exceeding six months,
carry out a greasing before
start-up.
On certain types of motors, the
exits of grease used are sealed
up. After approximately ten
greasings, it is necessary to
remove the focal-plane shutter;
this can necessitate the
disassembly of the ventilation
hood.
Any lubrication made must be
carried out with grease of the
same type as the original.
Avoid all mixing.
Consequently, in the case of
employing the grease analogy
of different makes or
compositions you must
dismantle, clean the rotations
and their accessories from
petrol and take off the old
grease before filling with the
new.
When the operations are
greased, control the impervious
device.
The rotations of the motors
must be examined periodically.
The frequency of inspections
depends on the functioning
conditions.
An abnormal function of
rotation may be disclosed by
temperature or noise. If a
rotation heats, though mounted
and greased correctly it
produces an abnormal noise or
again presents a game radial
important it is used and must
be replaced with the briefest
delay or face risk of jamming
with the ventilator dragging.
