LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY
THIS LIMITEDWARRANTY ("WARRANTY")APPLIESTOTHEPRODUCTS(AS DEFINEDBELOW) OF
SYNOLOGY,INC.ANDITSAFFILIATES,INCLUDINGSYNOLOGYAMERICACORPANDSYNOLOGYUK
LTD.,(COLLECTIVELY,"SYNOLOGY").YOUACCEPTANDAGREETOBEBOUNDBYTHETERMSOF
THISWARRANTYBYOPENINGTHEPACKAGECONTAININGAND/ORUSINGTHEPRODUCT.IFYOU
DONOTAGREETOTHETERMSOFTHISWARRANTY,DONOTUSETHEPRODUCT.INSTEAD,YOU
MAYRETURNTHEPRODUCTTOTHERESELLER WHEREYOUPURCHASEDITFORAREFUNDIN
ACCORDANCEWITHTHERESELLER'SAPPLICABLERETURNPOLICY.
Section 1. Definitions.
(a) "CategoryI Product"

RS810RP+ and RX410 (b) "Category II Product"
means Synology product models DS3611xs,
DS2411+, DS1511+, DS1010+,DS710+,DS509+,
DS50 8, RS34 11xs, RS3411RP xs, R S2211+,
RS2211RP+,RS411,RS409RP+,RS409+,RS409,
RS408-RP, RS408, RS407, RX1211, RX1211RP,
DX1211, DX510, DX5, RX4, and RAM Module
(1GB/2GB). (c) "Category III Product" means all
other Synology product models purchased by
Customer afterMarch1, 2008. (d) "Category IV
Product"meansallotherSynologyproductmodels
purchased by Customer before February 29,
2008.(e) "Customer" means the original person
or entitypurchasing theProductfromSynologyor
an authorized Synology distributor or reseller. (f)
"Product" means a Category I Product, Category
II Product, Category III Product, or Category IV
Product and any hardware incorporated into the
product by Synology and any accompanying
documentation.(g)"Software" meanstheSynology
proprietarysoftwarethat accompaniestheProduct
when purchased by Customer, is downloaded
by Customer at the Web Site, or is pre-installed
on the Product by Synology, and includes any
firmware, associatedmedia, images, animations,
video,audio,textandapplets incorporatedintothe
softwareor Product andanyupdatesor upgrades
to such software. (h) "Warranty Period"means: (i)
theperiodcommencingon thedatethe Product is
purchased byCustomer and ending (1) ve years
aftersuchdatefor Category IProducts; (2) three
yearsaftersuchdateforCategoryIIProducts;or(3)
twoyearsaftersuchdateforCategoryIIIProducts;
or (ii) one year after such date for Category IV
Products. (i) "Web Site"meanstheSynology web
sitelocatedatwww.synology.com.
Section 2. Limited Warranty and Remedies
2.1 Limited Warranty.
SubjecttoSection2.7,
Synology warrants toCustomerthateach Product
(a) willbe freeof materialdefects inworkmanship
and(b)undernormaluse willperformsubstantially
i n a c c o r d a n c e w i t h S y n o l o g y ' s p u b l i s h e d
specifications fortheProduct during theWarranty
Period.SynologywarrantstheSoftwareassetforth
in theaccompanying end user license agreement
providedwiththeProduct,ifany.
2.2 Product Registration.
Customers may
register Products with Synology and may obtain
the manufacturing date for Category I Products,
Category IIProducts and Category III Productsat
the WebSite. The failure toregistera Product at
the Web Site will notdiminish the warranty rights
setforthinSection2.1.Synologyisnotresponsible
forCustomer'sfailure to identifythe manufacturing
dateofanyProduct.
2.3 Exclusive Remedy.
If Customer gives
noticeofnoncompliancewithany ofthewarranties
set forth in Section 2.1 within the applicable
Warranty Period in the manner set forth below,
then, upon verification of the noncompliance by
Synology, Synology will, at Synology's option:
(a) use commercially reasonable efforts torepair
the Product, or (b) replace the noncomplying
Productorpartthereofuponreturnofthecomplete
Product in accordance with Section 2.4 The
foregoingsetsforth Synology'sentireliability and
Customer'ssoleand exclusive remedy forany
breachofwarrantyunderSection2.1 orany other
defect or deficiency in the Product. Customer
will reasonably assist Synology to diagnose and
validateanynonconformitywiththeProduct. The
warranty setforth inSection 2.1doesnot include:
(1) any warranty relating to the Software; (2)
physical installation or removal of the Product
from Customer'ssite; (3)visits toCustomer's site;
(4) labor necessary to effect repairs or replace
defective parts otherthan during Synology's or
its contracted service providers' normal local
businesshours,exclusiveofweekendsandservice
providers’holidays;(5)anyworkwithanythirdparty
equipmentorsoftware;(6)anywarrantyofthehard
diskifinstalledbyCustomeroranyotherthirdparty;
or(7) any warrantyof compatibilitywith the hard
disk.
2.4 Return.
AnyProductreturnedbyCustomer
under Section 2.3 must be assigned a Return
MerchandiseAuthorization ("RMA") number by
Synology before shipment and mustbe returned
in accordancewithSynology's then current RMA
procedures.Customermaycontactanyauthorized
SynologydistributororresellerorSynologySupport
to obtain assistance in obtaininganRMA, and
must provideproofof purchase andproduct serial
number when asking forsuch assistance. For
warrantyclaims,Customermustreturnthecomplete
ProducttoSynologyinaccordancewiththisSection
2.4tobeeligibleforcoverage under this Warranty.
AnyProduct returned without anRMAnumber,or
any Product that has beendisassembled (except
underthedirectionofSynology)willberefusedand
returnedtoCustomeratCustomer'sexpense.Any
Product that has been assigned a RMA number
must be returned in thesame condition asitwas
receivedfrom Synology totheaddressdesignated
bySynology,freightpre-paid,inpackagingsufcient
toprotectthe contents thereof andwith the RMA
