2 Within the next 10 seconds, press and hold RESET button for about 4 seconds until the Synology DiskStation
emits a beep sound.
3 Run Synology Assistant and follow the installation instructions in the Quick Installation Guide that came with
your installation disc to set up the Synology DiskStation.
Important: The data saved on the Synology DiskStation will not be erased during the reinstallation. However, for
security reason, we strongly recommend that you back up the data first.
Enable SNMP Service
Go to Main Menu > Control Panel > SNMP to enable SNMP service, which allows users to monitor
Synology DiskStation network flow with the network management software.
Currently, SNMPv1, SNMPv2c and SNMPv3 protocols are supported.
To enable SNMPv1, SNMPv2c service:
1 Tick Enable SNMP service.
2 Tick SNMPv1, SNMPv2c service.
3 Enter a Community name.
4 Click Apply.
To enable SNMPv3 service:
1 Tick Enable SNMP service.
2 Tick SNMPv3 service.
3 Enter a User name and Password. Enter your password again to Confirm password.
4 Click Apply.
