124 Chapter 14: Organize Videos and Record TV Programs with Video Station
2 Depending on which type of video folder you want to create, do the following:
 Movie
/TV Show/Home Video: Click Create and then Select to choose a folder from your DiskStation.
Note: For Movie/TV Show/Home Video, select which type of video you want to place in the folder. A folder can
contain only one video type, but multiple folders can be created to contain videos of the same kind. Once a folder
is selected, neither the folder nor its sub-folders can be selected to store any type of video.
 TV Recording: In the TV Recording Folder section, click Select to choose a folder from your DiskStation.
3 Click OK.
Re-index Video Files
Video files within the specified video folders will be indexed by default, but if files in a folder somehow appear
missing, you may need to perform re-index to re-construct the index structure of the files.
You can also re-index the video files to update their metadata periodically.
To re-index video files:
1 Select any video tab on the left panel, and go to Settings > Video Folder.
2 Select the folder whose video files you want to re-index, and do either of the following:
 Click Re-index all files to re-index all video files without searching video metadata over the Internet.
 Click Search all video info again to re-index all video files and search video metadata over the Internet all
over again.
Manage Video Collections
You can add videos to the favorites list or watchlist for quick access.
Do either of the following to add videos to the list(s):
 Method 1 - Add to favorites/Add to watchlist
 Movie/Home Video/TV Recording: Select any of the video clips in the main area, and click the Action
drop-down menu. Click Add to favorites or Add to watchlist.
 TV Show: Click any of the TV shows in the main area. All available episodes and seasons of the TV show
will appear. Select the episode you want or click the episode to enter the single-episode view, click the
Action drop-down menu, and click Add to favorites or Add to watchlist.
 Method 2 - Add to favorites/Add to watchlist icon
 Movie
/Home Video/TV Recording: Click any of the video clips in the main area to enter the single-video
view. Click the Add to favorites or Add to watchlist icon on the upper-right side.
 TV Show: Click any of the TV shows in the main area. All available episodes and seasons of the TV show
will appear. Click the episode you want to enter the single-episode mode, and click the Add to favorites
or Add to watchlist icon on the upper-right side.
To view your selected videos of Favorites or Watchlist:
Go to the Collection tab on the left panel, and click Favorites or Watchlist to see the videos added to the
category in question.
Note: For more information about editing video folders and browsing video files, click the Help button (with a
question mark) at the top-right corner, and then go to Video Station > Video Category.
