5.1 Installing the LA-5030 PC Card Driver
and Wireless Utility in Windows XP
Installing the LA-5030 driver in Windows XP requires the user to replace
the Symbol LA-5030 driver provided by the Windows XP operating
system with a newer version of the driver downloaded from the Symbol
Website or software installation CDROM.
To install the LA-5030 driver in Windows XP:
Note: Ensure the previously installed driver or Symbol a/g Adapter
Configuration Utility has been removed (if necessary).
Note: Windows XP Service Pack #1 is required on the system in order
to support WPA with the LA-5030 adapter. To download the
latest service pack, go to http://www.support.microsoft.com
1. If downloading the driver and Symbol a/g Adapter Configuration
Utility from the Symbol Web Site
(http://www.symbol.com/services/downloads), extract the files to the
computer.
2. Extract the driver files and launch setup.exe.
A Symbol Symbol a/g Adapter Configuration Utility Installer –
Welcome window displays.
3. Click Next to continue the Windows XP driver and Symbol a/g
Adapter Configuration Utility installation.
A Symbol Symbol a/g Adapter Configuration Utility Installer
window displays prompting the user to select the installation method
appropriate to the operating system used.
