5 LA-5030 PC Card Windows XP
Installations
Symbol supports two different install options for the LA-5030 adapter in
Windows XP.
Use the adapter with the Symbol driver and recommended Symbol a/g
Adapter Configuration Utility for optimal feature availability. This
installation option disables the user from using the Windows XP Zero
Config utility or third party supplicants. Refer to Installing the LA-5030
Driver and Symbol a/g Adapter Configuration Utility in Windows XP on
page 28 for installation information.
Use the Symbol driver with the Windows XP supplied Zero Config utility
to support a third part software supplicant. Zero Config and Symbol a/g
Adapter Configuration Utility cannot be used simultaneously. Refer to
Installing the Driver in Windows XP For Use With the Zero Config Utility

Go to (http://www.symbol.com/services/downloads) and download the
driver and Symbol a/g Adapter Configuration Utility installer or just the
driver installer if using Zero Config. Once downloaded, extract the files to
the computer hard drive. If Internet access is unavailable, contact a
Symbol sales representative for a CD.
Before installing the LA -5030 Windows XP driver:
• Download the driver and Symbol a/g Adapter Configuration Utility
software from the Symbol Web.
