within the Windows Control Panel. Verify there is no existing LA-5030
Windows driver in the system.
If there is an existing LA-5030 driver, remove the driver before
proceeding. Refer to Removing a LA-5030 Driver in Windows 2000 on

To install the LA-5030 PC Card driver in Windows 2000:
1. Ensure the previously installed driver or Symbol a/g Adapter
Configuration Utility has been removed (if necessary).
Note: Windows 2000 Service Pack #4 is required on the system in
order to support WPA and 802.1x with the LA-5030 adapter.
To download the latest service pack, go to
(http://www.support.microsoft.com).
2. If downloading the driver and Symbol a/g Adapter Configuration
Utility from the Symbol Web site
(http://www.symbol.com/services/downloads), extract the files to the
computer.
3. Launch setup.exe from the folder where the files were extracted.
A Symbol Symbol a/g Adapter Configuration Utility Installer –
Welcome window displays..
4. Click Next to continue the Windows 2000 driver and Symbol a/g
Adapter Configuration Utility installation.
A Symbol Symbol a/g Adapter Configuration Utility Installer
window displays prompting the user to select the installation method
appropriate to the operating system used.
5. Select the Install Symbol a/g Adapter Configuration Utility on
this computer checkbox.
6. Click Next to continue.
The Software License Agreement window displays.
