Shut Down and/or Restart the System, and Turn Off the HTTP Server
In order to protect the integrity of the data in the Reader, it is strongly recommended that you shut down
or restart the Reader via the Shut Down System page when necessary. The request must be confirmed by
checking the Please confirm checkbox.
CAUTION: If you choose to turn off the Web interface (using the Turn off
HTTP Server command on the Shut Down System page), you must
physically re-connect via serial cable to re-enable Web interface
communication. It is not recommended that you use Turn off HTTP
Server unless you require the highest level of security and understand the
process for restart.
1. If you haven’t already done so, access the Reader Maintenance Console.
2. Click the Shutdown link on the left-hand side of any Reader Maintenance Console page. The Shut
Down System page displays.
3. Click and check the Please confirm checkbox to indicate that you understand that you are about to
shut down and/or restart the system, which may interrupt normal system operation.
