Warning: Turning off this feature reduces your PC protection. So, we recommend you to keep
this feature turned on always. However, if you wish to turn it off, do that temporarily and ensure
that it is turned on again.
Turn off or turn on Data Protector

Start Norton.
If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

In the Norton product main window, click Settings > Antivirus.

In the Antivirus window, click the Data Protector tab.

In the Data Protector row, move the On/Off switch to On or Off.

In the Show Notifications row, do one of the following:
Move the switch to On to notify you every time Data Protector blocks a threat.
Move the switch to Off to suppress notifications. However, you can see the details of
blocked threats in the Security History window.
To access the Security History window, in the Norton main window, double-click
Security and then click History > Data Protector.

Click Apply.

If prompted, select the duration until when you want the Data Protector feature to be turned
off, and click OK.
Add or edit a folder for Data Protector protection

Start Norton.
If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

In the Norton product main window, click Settings > Antivirus.

In the Antivirus window, click the Data Protector tab.

In the Data Protector row, move the On/Off switch to On.

To add or edit a folder, do the following:
Next to Protected Folders, click Configure.
In the Protected Folders window, do the following:
To include a new item, click Add.
To change an existing item, choose the item and then click Edit to modify it.
Note: You cannot edit a preset folder.
