You cannot run System Restore on your computer when
Norton Product Tamper Protection is turned on. You
must temporarily turn off Norton Product Tamper
Protection to run a successful System Restore.
Turning off or turning on Norton Product Tamper
Protection
Norton Product Tamper Protection protects the Norton
Internet Security files from an attack or modification
by any virus or other unknown threat. You can protect
your product from accidental modification or deletion
by keeping the Norton Product Tamper Protection
option turned on.
If you want to temporarily turn off Norton Product
Tamper Protection, you can turn it off for a specified
duration.

To turn off Norton Product Tamper Protection

In the Norton Internet Security main window, click
Settings.

In the Settings window, click the General tab.

In the left pane, click Product Security.

In the Norton Product Tamper Protection row,
move the On/Off switch to the right to the Off
position.

Click Apply.

In the Security Request dialog box, in the Select
the duration drop-down list, select how long you
want to turn off Norton Product Tamper Protection.

Click OK.

In the Settings window, click OK.
