Swordfish Air Easy Installation Guide
Each Swordfish Air unit comes with: A. B. C. D. E. F. A Swordfish Air unit A Swordfish Air mounting plate A Swordfish Air 36W UVC lamp 6’ power cord 2” metal-cutting hole drill bit for easily installation 3 screws Caution: read before proceeding. UV HAZARD: Always protect your eyes from ultraviolet light. NEVER look at UV lamps in operation (when plugged in). Unplug a few minutes before replacing the lamp or before servicing.
Installation Instructions All you need is a screwdriver and a power drill. The installation kit covers everything else you’ll need. There are two options for where to install Swordfish Air; the return duct or the supply duct on your central air unit. (Don’t worry! It’s perfectly okay to drill into the duct work, you will not be damaging it.
How to install Swordfish Air. 1. Choose a location on your central air unit (HVAC) unit that’s easily accessible so you can change the UVC bulb when necessary. Mark a centre point with a marker. 2. Put the 2” circular drill bit that comes with your Swordfish Air onto your drill. Put on your safety goggles and you’re ready to go. Place the drill bit on your mark and drill a hole.
3. Insert the Blue Mounting Plate [B] into the hole you just made. 4. Secure the Blue Mounting Plate with the three screws that come with your Swordfish Air unit. You can use a drill or a screwdriver. When you’re done, remove the square sticker f rom the centre of the mounting plate.
5. Install the UV bulb [C] into the powerhead [A]. 6. Carefully slide the bulb and powerhead into the hole in the Blue Mounting Plate [B]. When it’s almost all the way in, remove the protective tape f rom around the powerhead and insert it. Turn clockwise until the electrical socket is exposed on the right side of the Blue Mounting Plate.
. Attach the Power Cord [D] into the Powerhead [A] and plug it in. 8. Check that the blue ‘power on’ light is illuminated on the Powerhead [A].
That’s it! Your Swordfish Air is now installed.
