How to Operate the Telephone Navigation buttons 48 All descriptions in this operating manual assume that the handset is in Standby mode. The handset is in Standby mode after pressing the button. The softkeys (1) and (5) are assigned different functions in the different menus. The function buttons are always referred to in this manual according to the texts directly above them in the display.

SMS messages cannot be sent from private branch exchanges. Sending SMS messages is not available for Call−by−Call connections at present. Charges are made for sending SMS texts.

In the same way, an SWITEL handset can be registered on base stations from other manufacturers as long as they comply with the GAP Standard. At least two handsets must be registered on a base station in order to deregister a handset from that base station.
