Preamble
This kit has been designed to facilitate installation with as little modifications to the case as possible. It is however meant for advanced users,
well versed in instal
ling computer components.
Specific tools needed to complete the
installation:
Power drill
1 ¼” (32mm) Bi
-
Metal hole saw to drill hole
for A/C socket
1/8” (3.17mm) Drill bit for A/C socket cover
mounting holes
General
Rules:
Always work on a “naked” case, removing side panels, front bezel, and top panel, with no power supply installed.
Never work with electricity connected to the computer while work is in progress.
The fill and bleed kit should always be at the highest
point of the cooling circuit.
Always connect individual components from bottom to top, so that the liquid naturally pushes the air up, and out during the fill and
bleed process.
1.
Strip the case “naked”
Remove side panels, top panel, front bezel, and power
-
supply.
2.
Install the pump relay switch socket.
Since you will be making holes in the case, metal debris could be flying off into your components. So it is preferable to make this
your first step, as it will be easier to clean up the case while there are no
components installed in it.
Please follow instructions in
paragraph 6, page 2 for the installation of the A/C socket.
3.
Mock
-
up installation: A mock
-
up installation will allow you to plan how you will route your tubing, and to precut tube segments to
length
between the cooling components. From pump to water
-
block, water
-
block to radiator, etc… Proceed with installing your
motherboard, and processor into the case, as well as the VGA card if you purchased the MCW50 VGA cooler.
Protect the core of
your processo
r, and VGA card if applicable with masking tape
, so that you will not scratch the finely lapped copper surface of
the cooling block (s). Once you know how far the different elements of the cooling kit are from each other, you can approximately
pre
-
cut the
tubing for each segment: cut an inch or so longer than needed, as you will re
-
cut precisely later. Now proceed with
installing the different cooling components.
