The OutbackCam automatically exits preview mode if there
is no button press for 60 seconds (except when the menu
is displayed).
Taking photos and recording videos
Set the Video/Photo mode switch to the desired mode for
capturing motion events.
You can configure settings, such as the quality and amount
of video recorded, and the size and number of photos taken
for a motion event, via the menu.
To provide illumination in low light or night conditions, you
can select the number of IR LEDs to be used via the IR LED
Mode Switch on the back panel. Use the larger number
of IR LEDs (upper and lower banks of IR LEDs) for clearer
black and white pictures when capturing events in total
darkness.
The OutbackCam can also capture pictures while it is
recording a video, and vice-versa. To do this, turn on the
Camera + Video setting in the menu.
In preview mode, you can manually take a snapshot or
record what's on the camera screen. Press the OK button
to take a quick snapshot or to begin recording. To stop
recording, just press the OK button again.
If a recording is in progress, you have to wait until the
OutbackCam has stopped recording before you can enter
preview mode.
Viewing photos and videos
Press the Up button when the OutbackCam is in preview
mode to display the Playback screen.
Review your collection of photos and videos by pressing
the Left or Right button.
