GENERAL SAFETY I N F O R M AT I O N Your new Superwinch is a powerful machine. Treat it with respect, use it with caution and always follow these safety guidelines. 1. The X2 winch is rated at 3,000 lbs. (single-line) capacity. DO NOT OVERLOAD. DO NOT ATTEMPT PROLONGED PULLS AT HEAVY LOADS. DO NOT MAINTAIN POWER TO THE WINCH IF THE MOTOR STALLS. Overloads can damage the winch and/or the wire rope and create unsafe operating conditions.
GENERAL SAFETY I N F O R M AT I O N ( C O N T. ) 8. NEVER HOOK THE WIRE ROPE BACK ONTO ITSELF. Use a nylon sling (Superwinch Part No. 1509). Hooking the wire rope onto itself can damage the rope (Figure 3). Wrong Figure 3 12. This can jam the wire rope in the winch, causing damage to the wire rope or winch itself. Right 9.
GENERAL SAFETY I N F O R M AT I O N ( C O N T. ) 19. DO NOT USE THE WINCH TO HOLD LOADS IN PLACE. Use other means of securing loads such as tie down straps. Superwinch offers a wide variety of tie down straps. Contact your local Superwinch dealer. 20. USE ONLY FACTORY APPROVED SWITCHES, REMOTE CONTROLS, AND ACCESSORIES. Use of non-factory approved components may cause injury or property damage and could void your warranty. 21. DO NOT MACHINE OR WELD ANY PART OF THE WINCH.
MOUNTING (CONT.) Drill two 7/16" (12mm) diameter holes with center lines exactly 3-11/16" (93.66mm) apart (Figure 7) in the support chosen for the winch. Attach the winch to the support with two (2) 3/8-16 Grade 5 Hex Head Bolts. Be sure the hardware is assembled as shown. Tighten the hardware to 35 lb. ft. torque. Bolt Flat Washer to the battery negative terminal, or to a metal ground such as the vehicle frame (Figure 8). Be sure connections are clean and tight.
From Switch Circuit Breaker Red Battery Cable Solenoid Figure 10 If connection to the battery positive terminal is not possible because of the terminal design, connect the circuit protector to the starter solenoid “hot” side. Determine the “hot” side by tracing the battery cable to the solenoid connection. Connect the circuit breaker to the same terminal to which the battery cable is connected (Figure 10).
O P E R AT I O N SWITCH OPERATION When the switch springs back to the “OFF” position, an electrical shunt provides dynamic braking action which prevents the winch from coasting (Figure 13). THIS BRAKING ACTION IS NOT A LOAD HOLDING DEVICE. When the switch is centered in the “OFF” position, the shunt reduces the action of a load to backdrive the winch. However, a load can cause the winch to creep. With the switch removed from the winch, there is a greater tendency for a load to backdrive the winch.
FREE SPOOL OPERATION MODEL X2F To disengage the clutch for freewheeling the wire rope out, pull the knob at the wire rope end of the winch straight out and rotate the knob 90° (1/4 turn). The wire rope can be pulled out by hand (Figure 15). Avoid jerking the wire rope off the drum when freespooling as this can cause the wire rope to backlash and snarl on the drum. Note: The clutch cannot be released if there is a load on the wire rope.
TROUBLE SHOOTING If the winch motor labors and then stops, the load is too great. Evidence of this will be a motor almost too hot to touch. Repeated occurrence of this condition indicates that the load exerted on your winch is beyond its capacity and may burn out the winch motor. Use of the accessory pulley block, P/N 2227, will increase the winch‘s capacity. MOTOR DOES NOT OPERATE Follow these steps in order. Make sure your vehicle engine is running and then try operating your winch after each step. 1.
5. PREVENT KINKS BEFORE THEY OCCUR. a b c Figure 18 a. This is the start of a kink. At this time, the wire rope should be straightened. b. The wire rope was pulled and loop has tightened into a kink. Wire rope is now permanently damaged and must be replaced. c. The result of kinking is that each strand pulls a different amount causing strands under greatest tension to break and reduce load capacity of the wire rope. The wire rope must be replaced. 6.

El cabrestante X2 está clasificado a una capacidad (de línea sencilla) de 1362 kg. (3000 lb). NO LO SOBRECARGUE. NO INTENTE TIRAR DE CARGAS PESADAS POR TIEMPO PROLONGADO. NO MANTENGA LA CORRIENTE AL CABRESTANTE SI EL MOTOR ENTRA EN PÉRDIDA.

Nunca guíe el cable de alambre con las manos hacia el tambor o hacia afuera. NUNCA ENGANCHE EL CABLE DE ALAMBRE SOBRE SÍ MISMO. Use una eslinga de nilón (Nº de Pieza Superwinch 1509). INFORMACIÓN GENERAL DE SEGURIDAD (CONT.) 17. NUNCA TRABAJE EN LA GUÍA, EL TAMBOR DEL CABRESTANTE O A SU ALREDEDOR MIENTRAS EL CABRESTANTE ESTÉ BAJO CARGA. 18. Cuando use su cabrestante para mover una carga, coloque la transmisión de su vehículo en neutral, ponga el freno de mano y bloquee todas las ruedas y mantenga en funcionamiento el motor. 19. NO USE EL CABRESTANTE PARA RETENER CARGAS EN UN SÓLO SITIO. Use otros medios para asegurar cargas, como tirantes para atar.
MONTAJE CONT. Tornillo Rondana plana El cabrestante puede montarse en posición horizontal o vertical (Figura 6.) No monte el cabrestante donde haya la posibilidad de que se sumerja en agua. Puede dañar el motor o causarle un choque eléctrico fatal.
Comenzando desde el cabrestante, pase los cables dentro del compartimento del motor. Si es posible, use las rutas y soportes del cableado existente. Si es necesario perforar para pasar los cables, asegúrese que éstos no estén expuestos a daños usando una arandela aislante (Figura 9). Use las tiras para atar para sujetar los cables a lo largo de su ruta.
I N S TA L A C I Ó N ( C O N T. ) Asegure el interruptor al motor apretando el tornillo manual del exterior del interruptor (Figura 12). Las cuerdas se atornillan en el orificio roscado dentro del contacto de bronce del motor (Figura 11). No use pinzas ni apriete demasiado el tornillo manual. Después que el interruptor esté en su lugar, quite el exceso de cable doblándolo sobre sí mismo en las áreas con exceso y átelo firmemente. No deje cables colgantes ni sueltos.
OPERACIÓN DE CARRETE LIBRE MODELO X2F Para soltar el embrague para sacar el cable con el carrete libre, tire de la perilla del extremo del cable de alambre del cabrestante directamente hacia afuera y gírela 90˚ (1/4 de vuelta). Ya se puede tirar del cable hacia afuera con la mano (Figura 15). Evite dar tirones al cable de alambre al sacarlo del tambor porque puede causar que el cable latiguee y se resbale del tambor. Nota: No se puede soltar el embrague si hay una carga en el cable.
BÚSQUEDA Y SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS Si el motor del cabrestante se fuerza y entonces se detiene, es que la carga es demasiado grande. Una prueba de esto será un motor muy caliente al tacto. Si esto se repite significa que la carga ejercida sobre su cabrestante está más allá de su capacidad y puede quemar el motor. El uso del accesorio de bloque de poleas, Nº de Pieza 2227, aumentará la capacidad del cabrestante. EL MOTOR NO FUNCIONA Siga estos pasos en orden.

Lorsque vous utilisez votre treuil pour déplacer une charge, placez la transmission du véhicule au point mort, mettez le frein à main, calez toutes les roues et laissez tourner le moteur. 19. N'UTILISEZ PAS LE TREUIL POUR MAINTENIR DES CHARGES EN PLACE. Utilisez d'autres moyens pour fixer les charges tels que des sangles.
MONTAGE (Suite) Le treuil peut être monté en position horizontale ou verticale (Figure 6). Ne montez pas le treuil à un emplacement où il pourrait être submergé dans l’eau. Le treuil est protégé contre les intempéries mais n’est pas étanche à l’eau. Des kits (d’adaptation) de montage Superwinch sont disponibles pour la plupart des véhicules courants.
En commençant au treuil, faites passer les fils dans le compartiment du moteur. Utilisez si possible le support et le cheminement pour les fils existant déjà. S’il s’avère nécessaire de percer des trous pour faire passer les fils, utilisez un passe-fil pour protéger ces fils contre tout endommagement (Figure 9). Utilisez des attaches-câbles pour les maintenir tout au long du cheminement.
Fixez le commutateur au moteur en serrant la vis à oreilles ronde sur l’extérieur du commutateur (Figure 12). La vis se visse dans l’orifice taraudé entre les contacts en laiton du moteur (Figure 11). N’utilisez pas de pince pour serrer la vis à oreilles et ne la serrez pas tro.p. FONCTIONNEMENT DU BOBINAGE LIBRE - MODÈLE X2F Pour relâcher l’embrayage et permettre le débobinage libre du câble, tirez droit sur la poignée située du côté câble du treuil et tournez-la 90 degrés (1/4 de tour). Le câble peut être tiré à la main (Figure 15). Evitez de faire sauter le câble du tambour lors du bobinage libre car ceci pourrait emmêler le câble et lui donner du jeu sur le tambour. N.B. L’embrayage ne peut pas être relâché si le câble est sous charge.
GUIDE DE DÉTECTION DES PROBLÈMES Si le moteur du treuil peine et puis s’arrête, la charge est trop importante. Vous pourrez vous en rendre compte parce que le moteur sera presque trop chaud au toucher. Une répétition de cette condition indique que la charge exercée sur votre treuil est au-delà de sa capacité et qu’elle peut brûler le moteur du treuil. Utiliser le palan accessoire, No. de pièce 2227, augmentera la capacité du treuil. LE MOTEUR NE FONCTIONNE PAS Suivez ces étapes dans l’ordre.
4. La traction initiale requise pour faire bouger une charge est souvent de beaucoup supérieure à la traction requise pour continuer à déplacer cette même charge.
