Installation Instructions
1) Park vehicle of level hard surface. Engage emergency brake. Place blocks in front and
behind front wheels to prevent rolling. Observe all safety precautions and wear safety
glasses.
2) With the vehicle on the ground, measure the distance from the bottom of the frame to
the contact pad on the axle. (Fig. 1)
3) The SSR-121-40, 47, & 54 kits come with several spacers and different length bolts to fit
a variety of vehicle configurations. After taking the measurement, determine which
combination of spacers will combine for a total height that is ½”-1 less than the
measurement between the frame and axle. (The 4x1/8 washer must always be used
directly on top of the Sumospring)
4) Raise rear of vehicle allowing the axle to hang freely. Support the frame using safety
jack stands.
5) Remove the original factory bumpstop by gripping firmly and twisting. (Fig. 2)
6) Remove the bumpstop cup (Fig. 3) using a ratchet and 13mm socket.
7) Insert appropriate length bolt from kit through the center of the Sumospring, 4 washer,
and spacers as determined in step 3.
8) Apply loc-tite to the threads of the bolt and thread it into the same hole in the frame
that the original bumpstop was removed from. Tighten the bolt using a 17mm socket
with extension and torque to 20 ft-lbs.
9) Repeat steps three through eight on the other side of the vehicle.
10) Jack up vehicle, remove safety jack stands.
11) Carefully lower vehicle to the hard surface.
12) Remove wheel blocks from the front wheels.
13) Fill out warranty card and send to SuperSprings. The warranty card is an
attached document.
