6-1 Overview
This chapter covers the steps required to take advantage of the dual port, failover,
and cascading features available with the 836EL series backplanes.
If you are not using an 836EL series backplane or you do not want to take advantage
of the advanced features, you can skip this chapter
Specic examples and cascading instructions can be found in the SC836 Backplane
Manual located in the Appendix section.
Review the warnings and precautions listed in the manual be-
fore setting up or servicing this chassis. These include infor-
mation in Chapter 2: System Safety and the warning/precau-
tions listed in the setup instructions.
