SBS Modified Mineral Surfaced Roll Roofing

Supercap SBS

is an SBS modiﬁed asphalt mineral surfaced roll rooﬁng membrane. Supercap is

reinforced with a ﬁberglass mat and ﬁre rated. SBS is a synthetic rubber that gives asphalt enhanced

performance characteristics. SBS modiﬁed membranes exhibit high multi-directional strength and

excellent cold temperature ﬂexibility in addition to elongation and recall properties far superior to

traditional asphalt rooﬁng membranes. These outstanding properties provide supercap SBS with

excellent resistance to “thermal shock,” a major contributor to roof failure.

SBS Modified Mineral-Surfaced Roll Roofing Application Instructions These application instructions are not applicable as part of a built-up roofing system. The following application instructions require the membrane be applied over a wood deck with an incline exceeding two (2) inches per foot. The deck must also drain freely at all points. Lap Cement: Asphalt-based roofing cement that complies with ASTM D 4586 must be used. Application with a serrated trowel is recommended.
