RAIDDRIVE is designed to break the throughput bottleneck in the storage subsystem by removing the bandwidth limitation of the SATA bus. The PCIe x8
interface used by RAIDDRIVE SSDs supports up to 4GB/sec bandwidth, more than 10 times faster than SATA2.
Using RAID architecture that is optimized for NAND ash memory, RAIDDRIVE is able to support burst read speeds of up to 2.4GB/sec. A turbocharged
cache system with up to 512MB of DRAM cache enables burst write speeds as fast as 2.2GB/sec. RAIDDRIVE, which houses up to 8 discrete SATA SSDs,
comes in a custom form factor.
