6-5 Security Menu
The menu options for the SECURITY menu are shown in Table 6-19.
The AMI BIOS provides a Supervisor and a User password. If you use both passwords,
the Supervisor password must be set first.
1st ~ Boot
Devices
These settings specify the boot sequence from the available devices installed in
your system. A device enclosed in parenthesis indicates that it has been
disabled in the corresponding type menu. Options for all three of these settings
are available boot devices and Disabled.
The devices to set are:

ST BOOT DEVICE
•2ND BOOT DEVICE
•3RD BOOT DEVICE
•4TH BOOT DEVICE
and so on.
Hard Disk Drives
This sub-menu specifies the boot device priority sequence from the available
hadrd drives installed in your system.
1st ~ Drive
These settings specify the boot sequence from the available hard disk drives
devices installed in your system.
The devices to set are:
•1
ST DRIVE
•2ND DRIVE
•3RD DRIVE
•4TH DRIVE
and so on.

Menu Option Description
Change Supervisor
Password
Select this option and press <ENTER> to access the sub menu, and then type in
the password.
Change User
Password
Select this option and press <ENTER> to access the sub menu, and then type in
the password.
Boot Sector Virus
Protection
This option is near the bottom of the S
ECURITY SETUP screen. The options are
E
NABLED and Disabled.
• Select D
ISABLED to deactivate the Boot Sector Virus Protection.
• Select E
NABLED to enable boot sector protection.
When E
NABLED, the AMI BIOS displays a warning when any program (or virus)
issues a Disk Format command or attempts to write to the boot sector of the hard
disk drive.
