InstallingtheVTLconsole
TheVirtualTapeLibraryconsoleapplicationcanbeinstalledonafullrangeof
operatingplatforms.Inmostcases,aSunservicerepr esentat iveinstallstheconsole
ononecustomerprovidedserveraspartoftheinitialdeployment.Customerscan
installasmanyadditionalinstancesasrequiredonothermachines.Note,however,
thatnomorethan two(2)instancesoftheconsolecanaccessthesameVTLserverat
thesametim e.

1. Logintothehostastheroot user.
2. UsingSecureFileTran sferProtocol(sftp),downloadtheinstallationfilestothe
client.
