H)andShred Tape(J)fromthecontextmenus.

5. Whenthe Shred Virtual Tape Resource dialogapp ears ,checkthe

Delete After Shredding checkbox(

K above)ifyouwishtodeletethetape

aftershredding.

6. Inthespaceprovided,type YES (

L above)toconfirmtheshreddingoperation,

andpress OK (

M).

Youcanviewthestatusbyhigh l ight in g thevirtualtapeinthevault.Thestatusbar

displaystheprogress.

Ifyouwanttoca nc eltheshreddingprocess,right‐clickonthetapeortheVirtual

VaultobjectandselectTape Shredding>Cancel.

Note – Tapeshreddingmayadverselyaffectbackupperformance.Werecommend 

thatyouperformtapeshreddingwhentherearenobackupsrunning.
