IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 8. Do not operate the lamp with a missing or damaged guard or lamp-containment barrier. 9. When connecting an AC appliance to the built-in AC outlets on the base, refer to the power rating of the connected appliance and do not exceed 5A total power load on one or both outlets combined. 10. Warning: To maintain a good balance and to prevent the lamp from tipping over, keep the lowest section of the adjustable arms at or above a 72-degree angle from horizontal.
Precautions RISK OF FIRE: Failure to read and follow these precautions could result in risk of fire. 1. Do not use with power supply voltage other than 120V AC. 2. Do not use outdoors or in locations with high humidity, such as bathrooms. 3. Do not install above sources of high heat, such as a stove or heater. 4. Do not touch the lamp while it is lit or immediately after turning off the lamp. Maintenance Caution: If any malfunction occurs, do not try to repair the unit yourself.

Assembly 1. Remove the plastic packing materials from the light fixture. 2. Remove the foam shipping guard from behind the preinstalled lamp. Note: The lamp socket (containment barrier) pivots out. Be certain to push the lamp and socket back into the fixture. (See Figure A below.) Figure A 3. To adjust the lamp height and angle, loosen the knobs on the fixture arms and move the arms to the desired height and angle, then tighten the knobs to secure the new positions. SI561 IM_v2 1106.
Operation 1. Plug the lamp into a 110-120V three-prong power outlet. 2. Turn the POWER CONTROL KNOB to turn the light on or off. Power Control Knob Grounded Power Outlets USB Port The built-in AC power outlets can be used to connect up to two separate chargers or other AC appliances. Do not exceed 5A total power load on one or both outlets combined. The built-in USB power port can be used to connect, power and charge compatible USB products.
Lamp Replacement 1. The lamp and socket pivot out for easy replacement. Gently pull the lamp out and slide the lamp out of the fixture socket. (See Figure B below.) Figure B 2. Replace with a new lamp. Replacement lamps are available from The Sharper Image (Item No. SI928). Do not use any other lamp with this product. 3. Gently push the lamp and socket back into place. How Long Coverage Lasts This warranty runs for one year from the date of original purchase. What Is Not Covered This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse or use other than as intended and described in the product instruction manual, or loss or damage to batteries or removable parts.
