Adjusting Hopper Lid Latch
The seals around the top of the pellet hopper areimportant to safe andefficient operation of the unit. The latch
installedon thisunitisdesignedtopullthehopperlidtightagainstthisseal.Overthecourseofoperationastheseseals
“wearin”andcompress,thetensionof
thelatchshouldbetestedperiodically,andadjustedifnecessary.
To adjust the lidlatch, thefollowing tools willbe needed; two ½ inchwrenches, ora ½ inch wrench anda ½ inch
socket.
Inordertoadjustthelatch,first(withtheunitunpl uggedandcooleddown)open
thehopperlidandthenlockthe
latch in its closed position. Take the ½ inch wrench and loosen the nut closest to the latch. This nut is then adjusted
closertotheliditselftotightenthelatch.Afteradjustingthisnuttothedesiredlocation,holdthisnutin
placewiththe
½inchwrench,thetightendowntheholdingnutontheendofthelatchshaftwiththe½inchsocket(orsecondwrench)
toholdthelatchingassemblyinplace.
Aftertightening the latch, testthe latch for propertension by lockingthe lid downand lifting eachfront
cornerofthelid.Thelidshouldbefirmlyhelddownbythelatch.Repeatthesameprocedureifthelatchisstill
nottightenough.
