Assembly 1 Attaching the fireplace surround 2 Assembling the fireplace Locate the Front Panel with Control Button (EA). Locate the Top Surround Rail (D) as well as the Left and Right Partitions (B and C). Align the Top Surround Rail (D) between the Left and Right Partitions (B and C). Push together, inserting the preinstalled dowels on the Top Surround Rail (D) into the holes on the Left and Right Partitions (B and C) as shown.
Assembly (continued) 4 Attaching the base Locate the Base (A) and align the Base (A) with of the center assembly. Insert Screws (GG) through the Base (A) and into the pre-drilled holes on the edges of the center assembly as shown. Securely tighten all screws using a Phillips screwdriver. A GG 5 Attaching the side panels 6 Attaching the back panels Locate the Left and Right Side Panels (E and F). Locate the Back Panels (H). Align the Left and Right Side Panels (E and F) with the Base (A).
Assembly (continued) 8 Attaching the cabinet doors 7 Attaching the door handles Each Door Handle (KK) has pre-attached screws. Remove these screws and place the Door Handles (KK) over the predrilled holes in the Left and Right Doors (N and O). Place the pre-attached screws on the other side of the Left and Right Doors (N and O) and tighten with a Phillips screwdriver through the door and into the Door Handles (KK).
Assembly (continued) 10 Attaching the upper back panel Locate the Upper Back Panel (M). Slide the Upper Back Panel (M) into the grooves between the Left and Right Media Shelf Partitions (J and K) as shown. Slide all the way down until the Upper Back Panel (M) meets the Top Panel (G). M K G J 11Attaching the magnetic door catches 12 Preparing the center shelf Insert bolts (EE) into pre-drilled holes in Center Shelf (I), but do not tighten all the way. Leave each bolt head about 1/8 in.
Assembly (continued) 13 Attaching the center shelf to the upper assembly Align the pre-installed hardware on the edges of the partitions on the upper assembly with the pre-drilled holes in Center Shelf (I). Insert Screws (GG) through the shelf ( I ) and into the pre-drilled holes on the edges of the partition panels( K, L and J) as shown.
Assembly (continued) 16 Securing the back panels Place the Back Panel Brackets (II) between the back panels and the grooves of the assembly as shown. Fasten each Back Panel Bracket (II) using Screws (HH). Repeat until all brackets are in place as indicated by the diagram. 17 Inserting the adjustable shelves Locate the two Adjustable Shelves (P). Insert the Shelf Pins (JJ) into the pre-drilled holes on the inside of each cabinet side panel at your desired height.
Assembly (continued) 19 Reinforcing the insert assembly Locate the Heater Box (EB) and align it behind the Control Panel Support. Secure the electric fireplace to the center shelf using Bolts (EE). Tighten on both sides using a Phillips screwdriver. 20 Assembling the log set Place the Log Set Left (EC) into the Ember Bed (EG) as shown. Repeat with the Log Set Right (ED).
Assembly (continued) 22 Assembling the fireplace Place the assembled log set into the back of the unit behind the glass panel. Push the tabs beneath the log set into the holes on the bottom panel. 23 Securing the log set Once the log set is in place, secure with Screws (BB) through the bottom of the log set into the bottom shelf. EG BB 24 Connecting the fireplace wiring Connect Key Button Connection Wire to heater. Insert the Ember Bed Connection Wire into the heater.
Assembly (continued) the fireplace 25 Placing the fireplace background 26 Securing background Locate the Back Panel (R). Only slightly bend the wallpaper and fit it into the back of the fireplace. Note that this back panel is reversible and can be placed with either side facing the fireplace insert for a customizable look. R Place the Back Panel Brackets (II) between the Back Panel (R) and the grooves of the assembly as shown. Fasten each Back Panel Bracket (II) using Screws (HH).
Assembly (continued) 27 Installing the tipping restraint hardware When the Tipping Restraint Hardware (LL) is properly installed, it can provide protection against unexpected tipping of the unit due to small tremors, bumps or climbing. Each Tipping Restraint Hardware (LL) includes one Unit Anchor, one Wall Anchor, one Anchor Tether, and two Anchor Screws. Use these to complete the following steps for a proper installation. LL Wall Locate a secure wall stud behind the unit closest to the left side.
Operation Operation NOTE: The control panel can be accessed at the upper-right corner of the insert. 1 Powering the fireplace 2 Push the Power button to supply power to all functions of the fireplace and put the insert in a standby mode. On the back end of the remote, press and slide the battery door open and remove the old battery. Insert two AAA batteries, checking that the + and sides of the battery match inside the battery compartment. Replace the battery compartment door. NOTE: Do not mix old and new batteries.

Troubleshooting PROBLEM The remote control is not working. ROOT CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION There are no batteries. Change the remote batteries. The signal is poor. Operate remote transmitter at a slow measured pace. Press the remote control buttons with an even motion and gentle pressure. Repeatedly pressing buttons in rapid succession may cause the transmitter to malfunction. The remote is too far from the heater.
