extreme summer temperatures, an air-conditioning system can be used to control indoor temperature levels. Other means of controlled mechanical
ventilationcanbeusedtoreducelevelsofformaldehydeandotherindooraircontaminants.Ifyouhaveanyquestionsregardingthehealtheffectsof
formaldehyde, consult your doctor or call your local health department.
Important Information
•Allworkinvolvingwaterormoisture(plumbing,masonry,wainting,plastering)mustbecompletedpriortoooringinstallation.Buildingenvelopemust
becompleteandexteriordoorsandwindowsinstalled.ExteriorgradingandgutterdownspoutsshouldbecompletedandpermanentHVACsystemsin
operation.
•Precautionsshouldbetakentoprotectoorsfromothertradework.DO NOT coveroorswithplastic,redrosin,feltorwaxpaperorpreviouslyused
cardboard. Instead, use a breathable material such as clean, dry, plain uncoated cardboard or craft paper; inks from printed cardboard could damage
thehardwoodoor. Theoorshouldbethoroughlycleanedbeforecoveringtoremovegritanddebristhatwoulddamagethenish.Theoormustbe
completelycoveredtoeliminateunevenamberingfromexposuretoUVlight.
•Roomtemperatureshouldbe60-80°F,withrelativehumiditybetween35-55%.Theseenvironmentalconditionsarespeciedaspre-installation
requirementsandmustbemaintainedforthelifeoftheproduct.Additionally,anyHVACsystemmustbeinoperationforaminimumof14dayspriorto
performing moisture tests or installation.
•Buildinginteriorsareaffectedbytwodistincthumidityseasons–HeatingandNon-Heating.Careshouldbetakentomaintainhumiditylevelsbetween
35-55%yearround.Aswithallwoodooring,expansionandcontractionwillbeminimizediftheinteriorrelativehumidityisconsistentlymaintained
yearround.Humidicationand/ordehumidicationsystemsmaybenecessarytomaintainyourhomeenvironmenttoprescribedrelativehumidity
conditions.
•Allheatingmethodscreatedry,lowhumidityconditions.Humidiersarerecommendedtopreventexcessiveshrinkageorgappinginwoodoorsdueto
seasonal periods of low humidity.
•Duringthenon-heatingseasonproperhumiditylevelsshouldbemaintainedbyusinganairconditionerordehumidier.
• DO NOT install this product in full bathrooms.
•Purchaseanadditional5%ofooringtoallowforcutsandadditional10%ifinstallingdiagonally.
