HeadphoneCueSystem/Talkback
Theheadphonecuesystemanditsassoci-
atedtalkbackfunctionissimpletouse,but
doesofferanumberofuserandconfigura-
tionoptions.OntheModel75,threebut-
tonsandoneLEDareusedtocontrolthese
functions.
ThetalkbackbuttonontheModel75isused
toenablethetalkbackfunction.Depending
ontheModel75’sconfiguration,thebut-
tonmayprovideapush-to-talkoralatching
(pushon/pushoff)action.Inmostcases
enablingthetalkbackfunctionwillalso
causethedimfunctiontoenable.However,
beawarethataModel75configuration
doesallowtalkbacktonotenabledim.The
LEDassociatedwiththetalkbackbuttonwill
lightwhenevertalkbackisenabledusingthe
buttonontheModel75.Remotelyenabling
talkback,usingahard-wiredconnectionor
aninfrared(IR)source,willcausethetalk-
backLEDtoflash.
Byusingthetwotalkbacklevelbuttons,
thetalkbacklevelcanbeselectedoveran
8-steprange.Toadjustthetalkbacklevel,
enablethetalkbackfunctionandpressthe
upordownbuttonasrequired.TheLED
associatedwiththetalkbackbuttonwillflash
eachtimethelevelisincreasedorde-
creaseduntilthetoporbottomoftherange
isreached.Atthispoint,ifyoucontinueto
pressthesamelevelbuttontheLEDwon’t
flash,indicatingyou’reatthetoporbottom
ofthe8-steplevelrange.
Dependingonhowthetalkbackfunction
hasbeenconfigured,talkbackaudiowill
eitheraddto(sumwith)theselectedcue
audiosourceoritwillreplace(interrupt)
thesource.Notethatit’salsopossibleto
configurethesystemsothatnocueaudio
sourcewillbepresentatanytime.
AModel75functionallowsthecueaudio
sourcetobeselectedfrombetweentwo
choices.Thefirstchoiceistheleftand
rightaudiochannelsbeingsenttothe
monitoroutputs.Thesechannelsarepost
(after)theinputsourcebuttonsandthe
downmixfunctions;whateverisbeing
heardoutoftheleftandrightmonitorloud-
speakerswillbeheardintheheadphone
cuesystem.Thesecondcueaudiochoice
isStereoB.Ifthischoiceisselected,the
sourceorsourcesselectedforthemoni-
toroutputswillhavenoimpactonwhatis
heardintheheadphonecuesystem.
It’sasimplemattertodeterminewhich
cueaudiosourceisselectedand,ifde-
sired,changetotheotherone.Whenthe
talkbackfunctionisnotactive,pressboth
thetalkbacklevelupandleveldownbut-
tons.ThefourinputsourceLEDswillno
longerreflecttheselectedmonitorsource
(orsources)butinsteadwilldisplaythe
selectedcueaudiosource.Observingthe
LEDassociatedwithStereoB,ifitisnotlit
thecueaudiosourceistheleftandright
channelsbeingsenttothemonitoroutputs.
IftheLEDassociatedwithStereoBis
flashing,thecueaudiosourceisStereoB.
Tochangetheselectedcueaudiosource,
presstheStereoBbutton.
NotethattheModel75doesn’tprovidean
overallleveladjustmentforthecueaudio
andtalkbackoutputsignalsthataresent
tothetalentamplifierandline-levelcue
outputs.Aswaspreviouslydiscussed,the
relativelevelofthetalkbackaudioversus
thecueaudiocanbeadjusted.Thisre-
