Settingthereferencelevelisverysimple:
1. Setupaprecisionsoundpressure
level(SPL)measuringdeviceatthe
desiredlisteninglocation.
2. PlacetheStudioCommsysteminthe
normaloperatingmode,notthecon-
figurationmode.Becertainthatthe
referenceanddimfunctionsarenot
active.
3. UsetheModel75ControlConsoleto
selecttheinputsourcethatcontains
thedesiredreferencesignalsource,
e.g.,pinknoise.
4. Selectthedesiredmonitoroutput,
speakersystemAorB.
5. ObservingtheSPLmeter,adjustthe
Model75’srotarylevelcontroluntil
thedesiredreferenceoutputlevelhas
beenreached.
6. Beingcarefulnottotouchtheposition
oftherotarylevelcontrol,enterthe
configurationmodebypressingand
holdingtheconfigurationbuttonlocat-
edontheModel75’sbackpanel.
7. Oncetheconfigurationmodehasbeen
entered,themonitoroutputswillmute.
Pressandholdthereferencebutton
untilitsassociatedLEDlights.Thiswill
takeapproximatelyfiveseconds.The
LEDwilllighttoindicatethata“snap-
shot”ofthenewreferencelevelhas
beentaken.
8. Tostorethenewreferencelevelin
memory,exittheconfigurationmodeby
againpressingandholdingtheconfig-
urebutton.
Thislevelisnowpermanentlystoredas
thereferencelevel.Onlybyrepeatingthe
procedurecanthevaluebechanged.
Oncetheconfigurationmodehasbeen
exited,themonitoroutputchannelswill
againbecomeactive.Confirmthatthecor-
rectlevelhasbeenstoredbypressingthe
referencebutton.TheSPLmetershould
againdisplaythedesiredlevel.Ifnot,
repeatthecalibrationprocedure.
Youmightwonderwhyyouhavetopress
andholdthereferencebuttonforfivesec-
ondsbeforetheselectedvalueisstored.
Thisisprovidedspecificallysothatsome
carelesspersonwon’taccidentallychange
thereferencelevelwhiletheyare“playing
around”intheconfigurationmode!Onlyif
youknowthe“secret”willyoubeableto
storeanewvalue.
RemoteInputSelect
Theremoteinputselectfunctionrequires
configuringtwoparameters:modeand
inputtobeselected.Themodecanbe
selectedfromthreechoices:disabled,
exclusive,andnon-exclusive.Asexpected,
whenconfiguredfordisabled,thefunction
cannotbeactivated.Whenconfiguredfor
exclusive,wheneverthefunctionisacti-
vatedonlythespecifiedinputwillbeactive.
Whenconfiguredfornon-exclusive,when-
everthefunctionisactivatedthespecified
inputwillbeadded(summed)withany
otherinputorinputsthatarealreadyac-
tive.Theinputcanbeselectedfromamong
thetwosurroundandtwostereoinput
sources.
DimLevel
Thedimfunctionisusedtoreducethe
monitoroutputlevelbyapresetamount.
ThereductionisindBrelativetothemoni-
toroutput’scurrentlevel.Therearefour
dimlevelvaluesavailable:10,15,20,
and25dB.
