1. Build the correct frame for the purchased bathtub using 2”x4” or 2”x6” lumber.
Consult the item's specification sheet for precise dimensions. Remember to
account for access to the drain and faucet connections during framing.
ALWAYS CONFIRM STRUCTURE MEASUREMENTS WITH THE ACTUAL UNIT
FOR A PRECISE FIT.
a. As you build the frame, account for the space and thickness of the final
wall, deck material, and plumbing connections.
b. Remember to factor in the thickness of the mortar base (if utilized)
and any
tile or deck materials when determining the height of the frame.
c. Ensure a 1/16" (2 mm) gap remains between the bathtub rim and the
framework.
