Mortar Bed
a. Avoid gypsum cement and drywall compounds; they lack a lasting bond.
ONLY use mortar.
b. Ensure you use enough mortar to support the bathtub's bottom, typically
between 2'' and 4''. The mortar layer should be adequately thick to facilitate
the tub's leveling without elevating it.
